Using ClO₂ On Tanks and Lines
Biodegradable. Non-Staining. No Fragrance. No VOC’s. No Residuals. No Rinsing/No Wiping required.
STEP 1: Global Standard Cleaning Protocol
Determine total tank and line capacity to be cleaned and deodorized and whether you will add the chlorine dioxide product directly to the tank, or first generate the chlorine dioxide into a fluid solution, prior to pouring into tank and line system opening. We recommend generating a liquid & pouring it into the tank.
Drain the water storage tanks and/or the waste holding tank.
Use the Tank & Line Chart to determine how much chlorine dioxide is required.
Then activate the chlorine chlorine into a liquid solution.
Tank & Line Generation Table | |
Total Tank Capacity | Tablet Grams Required |
5-10 Gallon | 4 grams |
10-20 Gallon | 8 grams |
55 Gallon | 20 grams |
110 Gallon | 40 grams |
240 Gallon | 80 grams |
STEP 2: Refill Tank & Line System with ClO₂
Refill tank & line system with 20% of the total tank volume with water. Then add the appropriate ClO₂ tablet solution.
30 minutes later, flush & quick rinse the system. Leave ClO₂ in tank system overnight for aggressive & remedial issues. Longer Treatment Period = Better Results.
Run the Solution through all the lines (faucet, shower and outlets) until tank is empty.
STEP 3: Additional Flush
The following rinse steps are not required but recommended. Refill the tanks with rinse water to approximately 20% of tank. Flush rinse water through all the faucets and outlets until water storage tank is empty.
Tanks and its dispensing lines is now cleaned and can be refilled for use or left empty for storage.
